NetSuite Site Builder Migration: What to Do Before the Rush
Oracle treats NetSuite Site Builder as legacy and points merchants to SuiteCommerce. Here’s why waiting costs more, and how SuiteCommerce and Shopify B2B compare as replacement paths.
Gozney sells pizza ovens to consumers and to trade partners, using Shopify for eCommerce and NetSuite as its system of record. Orders entered in NetSuite by sales reps never appeared in the customer’s Shopify account. UnlockCommerce built a custom Shopify app that syncs NetSuite orders into Shopify in real time, giving every customer one complete order history.
Gozney designs and sells premium pizza ovens, catering to both B2C consumers and B2B partners. Trusted by chefs, restaurants, and home enthusiasts worldwide, their reputation is built on craftsmanship, innovation, and performance, and their digital operations are as global as their brand.
Gozney runs Shopify for eCommerce and NetSuite for backend operations across multiple regions and both sales channels. Shopify displays the orders placed on Shopify. It had no view of the orders created in NetSuite.
In practice that meant a trade customer could call a sales rep, place an order for three ovens, and then log into their Shopify account the next day and see nothing. The order existed. It was just in the other system.
For the eCommerce team, that gap showed up as an incomplete purchase history and a self-service experience that only worked for half the customer base. For the operations team, it showed up as inbound order status requests that a portal should have handled without a human. This is standard ERP to commerce friction: NetSuite holds the truth, and the storefront cannot see it.
UnlockCommerce built a custom NetSuite to Shopify integration that syncs order data between both systems in real time. Separate apps were deployed for regional operations, starting with the US and UK, with further rollouts planned.
The app writes NetSuite-created orders into Shopify and keeps the details current, including order status, pricing and fulfillment. Customers now see both their Shopify orders and their externally created orders in one place when they log into their account.
A US sales rep takes a call from a trade customer who wants three ovens. The rep creates the order in NetSuite. The next day the same customer logs into their Shopify account and orders five more. Before the integration, only the second order appeared. Now both appear together as one continuous order history.
The point is not the sync itself. The point is that Gozney’s self-service experience finally reflects the whole customer relationship, regardless of which system the order started in.
The capability behind this build is available as a product. NetSuite Order History is published on the Shopify App Store by Unlock Software, Inc, and it does what this page describes: it shows NetSuite-generated orders alongside Shopify orders in the Shopify customer account, in real time.
Most brands in this position start by looking at a general-purpose connector. Sometimes that is the right answer. Here is how the options compare for this specific problem, which is surfacing ERP-originated orders inside the customer-facing account.
| Approach | Strength | Trade-off | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| NetSuite Order History app | Purpose-built for this exact problem. $29/month, installed from the App Store, no build project | Covers order history in the customer account. It is not a general ERP integration platform | Brands whose gap is specifically that ERP-created orders do not appear in the customer account |
| General-purpose connector | Broad order, inventory, customer and fulfillment sync. Well documented | Built primarily to move Shopify orders into NetSuite. Surfacing ERP-created orders back into the customer account is usually outside its scope | Teams that need full two-way data sync across many record types |
| Custom build | Matches unusual order flows, regional structures and account experiences exactly | Requires a project, a budget and a partner who knows both platforms properly | Requirements the app does not cover, or multi-region setups with genuinely different logic per region |
| No integration | No cost, no project | Partial order history, avoidable support volume, a portal your B2B customers do not adopt | Not a real option once trade sales are material |
Connector capabilities change often. Confirm current scope against vendor documentation before making a platform decision.
Gozney needed to move quickly and keep the build lean. UnlockCommerce tested directly in the production environment with access restricted to selected Gozney team members and UnlockCommerce developers through conditional filters. Once the behavior was validated, it was released publicly.
Development, testing, client feedback and documentation were completed in one month. Orders have been synced in real time since launch, with zero issues reported post-launch.
Gozney now has an order sync that can extend region by region, and a self-service experience that matches how its customers actually buy.
Yes. NetSuite Order History, published by Unlock Software, Inc on the Shopify App Store, displays NetSuite-generated orders alongside Shopify orders in the Shopify customer account with real-time sync. The Starter plan is $29 per month. It works with Shopify customer accounts, Shopify Admin and NetSuite.
Not on its own. A Shopify customer account displays orders that exist in Shopify. To show orders that originated in NetSuite, those orders need to be brought into Shopify by an integration or surfaced in the account through an app. The NetSuite Order History app does this without a custom build.
Real-time sync requires an integration that reacts to order events in NetSuite and pushes the order plus its status, pricing and fulfillment detail into Shopify as they change. For Gozney, UnlockCommerce built a custom Shopify app per region rather than relying on a scheduled batch process.
Because part of their history lives somewhere else. If sales reps enter phone, email or quote-based orders directly in NetSuite, those orders never touch Shopify and never appear in the customer account. The fix is to sync ERP-created orders into Shopify so both origins appear in one list.
The NetSuite Order History app starts at $29 per month on the Starter plan, billed in USD. A custom build costs considerably more and is only worth it when your order flows or regional structure need logic the app does not cover.
Start with the app. It is purpose-built for showing ERP-created orders in the customer account. A custom build makes sense when you have unusual order flows, multiple regions with genuinely different logic, or account experience requirements beyond order history.
Yes. Gozney runs separate apps for regional operations, starting with the US and UK, with additional regions planned. Treating each region as its own deployment keeps regional pricing, tax and fulfillment rules intact instead of forcing one global configuration.
